Mark Coe, CFA
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Mark Coe began his investment career in 1987 as an analyst at Gofen and Glossberg, Inc. and later established Kent Associates within Paine Webber. In 1999, he formed Coe Capital Management, an investment management and advisory services firm, and launched the first Intrinsic Edge fund. Mark earned a BS in Accounting from University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign, where he was awarded the “Bronze Tablet”, one of the University’s highest academic honors. Mark also holds a Masters of Management in Finance and Economics from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business. Mark is actively involved with several educational and charitable organizations and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Keshet, the Investment Committee for the University of Illinois and is the Governing Director for the University of Illinois Foundation.
Andy Corral has been working with the Intrinsic Edge team since 2007. He began as a junior analyst and quickly transitioned into more senior investment roles at the firm. Andy is now an integral part of the proprietary research team and currently serves as co-PM of the core Intrinsic Edge strategies. Andy has worked closely with Mark Coe and Nathan Jacobs in building the research capabilities of the firm and continues to be a key contributor to the funds’ ongoing success. He graduated from Illinois State University in 2007 with honors, earning a BS degree in Finance with a minor in Economics.
Paul Klibanow joined Intrinsic Edge in 2016 as a research analyst and now serves as Co-Portfolio Manager of the Intrinsic Edge Capture strategy. Before joining Intrinsic Edge, Paul served as the Portfolio Manager for Chicago based PJK Capital Management, LLC. Prior to PJK, he spent three years as an analyst at Force Capital Management, LLC, based in New York. Paul received his BS in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.
Director of Research
Nathan Jacobs joined the Intrinsic Edge team in 2001. He has worked closely with Mark Coe throughout his tenure at the firm to refine our processes and now serves as Director of Research to all funds. Nathan plays an integral role in recruiting, training, monitoring and interfacing with the analyst team. He is also the primary point on the assignment of meetings and calls, a key component of our investment process. Nathan received his BS from Illinois State University in 2001 and received his MBA in Finance from the Kellstadt School of Business at DePaul University in 2007.
Chief Executive Officer
John Gallop joined the Intrinsic Edge team in 2017 to provide strategic, operational, and institutional leadership to the firm. He spent over 13 years at Advisory Research, a Chicago based investment firm, serving on the management committee and being actively involved in business development, client service and strategic development. Prior to Advisory Research, John was an investment banker for 15 years at firms including Bear Stearns, Stifel Financial and Everen Securities. John holds a BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. John serves on the boards of Intonation and Cahn Fellows-Chicago.
Chief Operating Officer
Akshay Kaura joined the Intrinsic Edge team in 2019. Prior to joining, he played a leadership role in the launch, establishment and management of two Minneapolis based multi-billion-dollar alternative investment firms – Black River Asset Management (2004-2016) and Garda Capital Partners (2016-2018). In his most recent role at Garda Capital Partners, he served as Managing Director with oversight responsibilities across the finance, treasury, liquidity management and operations functions. He also worked at Cargill, Inc as a Business Analyst in their Minneapolis office and with ABB Alstom Power in India and Germany. He holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University (India), in addition to an MBA and MS in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Chief Compliance Officer & General Counsel
Elizabeth Ryan joined Intrinsic Edge in 2019 to lead the compliance and legal areas of the firm. Prior to joining Intrinsic Edge, she was a Senior Compliance Consultant at Simon Compliance, spent seven years as a member of the Legal and Compliance team at Grosvenor Capital Management, L.P. and was an Associate Attorney with William G. Clark, Jr. & Associates. She received her BA from the University of Dayton and received her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. Elizabeth is a member of the Illinois Bar.
